The cyclone went south. I have to admit I was curious what a cyclone would be like, but having been 500km from one I can honestly say I don’t need to be any closer. In Broome we’ve had small wind gusts maxing out at about 80km/h and a respectible 20ish millimetres of rain a day. That might not seem like a lot, and I know I have experiences a lot worse around the place, but when it looks like what you can see below you’d probably be happy with what you’d seen too.
The rain wind and swell has been eating away the sand dune. Most of the colour in the water is from run off though.
Okay, it was wet abnd windy, but others have it so much worse.

Today’s selection of photos from Western Australia include some excellent (if I do say so myself) images from the Violet Valley area of the east Kimberley region. The area includes significant ranges of mountains and abounds with water, deepish valleys and beautiful spinifex and grass covered expanses which are impossible not to love.
So here are some more photos from my recent Kimberley Trip. The first photo below is another one of my lovely desks during the week out bush. This one got a tad warm as the temperature approached 40 degrees, but the vents made it tolerable. The view from my desk helped as well…
